Care for Humanity, But Stay Rooted in Your Community

It is our moral and spiritual duty to care for all of humanity, to show kindness, compassion, and respect to every human being, regardless of their background. Whether it's helping someone in need, standing up for justice, or offering a word of comfort, we are taught to treat others with mercy and dignity. After all, we all share the same human family.

At the same time, it’s important to remain connected and committed to your own community, the people who share your faith, culture, values, and experiences. Sticking with your community doesn’t mean ignoring others; it means knowing where your primary responsibilities lie. It means supporting your own people, preserving your traditions, strengthening your collective identity, and being there in times of joy and hardship.

Caring for humanity and being loyal to your community are not opposites, they go hand in hand. When you’re strong and united with your own people, you are in a better position to serve the wider world. Rootedness gives strength, and strength brings greater impact.

In short, be a light for the world, but don’t forget the lamp that lit your way.
